Making illiteracy history- with Artificial Intelligence

The need for effective education remains a pressing civic issue with millions of Indians stuck in a vicious cycle of poverty, disenfranchisement, and illiteracy. Education, being the most direct and compelling catalyst for social development, continues to be a difficult goal due to a high over-age and dropout ratio, poor infrastructure, and standardized testing for specific educational needs.
This project aims to innovatively use artificial intelligence to create and implement educational courses based on competency and interest, rather than age or previous grade. A tailored tool first identifies the student’s learning level by tracking and assessing their level of understanding via computer vision. A predictive mechanism and interactive learning systems monitor when alternative vocational courses should be recommended. AI based training techniques would focus on topical issues like women’s health and safety, social security, microfinance, nutrition, and gender violence and inequality.
